Soak In Dead Sea Salt For 15 Minutes And You'll Be Amazed With The Transformation

03:03
Nestled between Jordan, Israel, and Palestine, the Dead Sea is a salt-lake more than 15 million years old. Among the planet’s saltiest bodies of water, the Dead Sea has a salinity of 34.2% – it’s ten times as salty as the ocean. Its salinity creates a harsh environment for flora and fauna, earning the name Dead Sea since precious few microorganisms can survive within it. Check out this 5 amazing things dead sea salt can do 1.Dead Sea Salt is Deeply Hydrating Bathing in a solution of 5% Dead Sea salt improves skin hydration, reduces redness and roughness, and enhances the skin barrier, according to a study published in 2005. Sufferers of atopic dry skin submerged one arm in seawater and the other arm in plain tap water for 15 just minutes. While the salt treated arm showed significant improvements in all areas, the tap water arm showed evidence of further transepidermal water loss. The anti-inflammatory and skin hydrating effects of Dead Sea salt are due to its high magnesium content. Magnesium salts bind to water, which in turn boosts skin absorption and permeability. 2. Dead Sea Salt Cleanses and Disinfects Thanks to sulfur’s natural antibacterial properties, Dead Sea salt is wonderful for cleaning the surface of the skin. Because Dead Sea salt contains only small amounts of sulfur salts, it offers a gentle way to reduce oily skin and clear away acne. 3. It is an Excellent Exfoliator Another way Dead Sea salt helps cleanse the skin is its ability to slough off dead skin cells that can contribute to skin roughness, clogged pores, and blemishes. To make a scrub, combine ½ cup of finely ground Dead Sea salt with ¼ cup of coconut oil. 4. Dead Sea Salt Promotes Youthful Skin In evaluating the effects of Dead Sea salt on aging skin, researchers found that it reduces skin roughness that contributes to fine lines and deep wrinkles. Compared with placebo, a commercially prepared anti-wrinkle gel, and a 1% Dead Sea salt solution, these ointments were applied twice daily for four weeks. While the placebo and anti-wrinkle gel reduced skin roughness by 10% and 27% respectively, the Dead Sea salt treatment was superior in smoothing skin, reducing deep wrinkling by an average of more than 40%.  5.Dead Sea Salt Calms Rheumatoid Arthritis Marked by painful swelling of the joints, rheumatoid arthritis may over time lead to bone erosion and deformity. Though there is no cure, Dead Sea salt therapy has proven to be an effective treatment for many of the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. In the study, patients bathed in Dead Sea salt daily for 20 minutes for two weeks. Evaluated by rheumatologists and their own self-assessments, patients showed significant improvements in morning stiffness, 15 meter walk time, hand-grip strength, circumference of joints, the number of active joints, and the activities of daily living.

How to take a Salt Detox Bath!

07:07
Ever wonder how to take a proper salt detox bath......there are a few little tricks..... A Salt Bath is made with Epsom Salt, also known as magnesium sulfate, which not only draws out toxins, but has health benefits of its own: (www.healthylivinghowto.com) • Ease stress and improves sleep and concentration • Help muscles and nerves function properly • Regulate activity of 325+ enzymes • Help prevent artery hardening and blood clots • Make insulin more effective • Reduce inflammation to relieve pain and muscle cramps • Improve oxygen use • Flush toxins • Improve absorption of nutrients • Help form joint proteins, brain tissue and mucin proteins • Help prevent or ease migraine headaches You may have heard of DEAD SEA SALT BATHS as well. These salts are filled with healing minerals, and can also be used as a detoxification bath, however I have recommended the EPSOM SALTS for a detox bath as they are very affordable. The Dead Sea Salts are fairly pricey, so if you do not require the salts for other healing purposes, I would suggest the Epsom for the detox. STEPS TO DRAW A SALT BATH (DETOX BATH) Prepare for your bath. Get a towel, face-cloth, water bottle, epsom salt, essential oil (if desired) and candles (if desired), possibly baking soda (if your water is chlorinated) Fill your bath with water that is as hot as you can. The idea is to create a sweat. As you fill your bath, add 2 cups Epsom salt, (or 1 cup if it is a smaller bath). If your bath water is not filtered you may want to add a cup of baking soda at this time as well, to help neutralize the chlorine and chemicals. While the tub is filling, lite a few candles and place them around the tub, or bathroom to create a relaxing environment. Do not turn the bathroom main light on, use candle light. When the body is in a relaxed state it has the ability to complete its ‘job’ more easily…like detoxing :) Place your filled water bottle at the edge of the tub, so that you have it accessible to drink while soaking. You will want the water to assist in the cleansing. Place a damp, cool face-cloth (or dry) on the edge of the tub, so that when you get hot you have a cloth to wipe down your face. It helps to stay in the tub longer. Once the tub is filled, add 5-10 drops of essential oil, if so desired. I like lavender in the evening. This is not required, however essential oils have their own healing properties that assist us during this relaxing, detoxing time. I recommend to use one that you enjoy the smell of, like lavender. Do not add essential oil under the running water because the healing properties dissipate quicker when exposed to the oxygen. 2.  Climb in and immerse yourself up to your neck if possible. You will want to soak for at-least 15min, preferably 20min. Be sure to drink all your water. Close your eyes, relax, and maybe do a little breath work. I sometimes bring in spa music to listen to as well, as it helps pass the time. 3. After 15-20min of soaking, it is time to drain the bath. For those of you that like to feel the toxins being pulled out of your body, a neat experience is to lay in the bathtub as the water goes down the drain. You become very aware of the weight of your body. If this is not your thing, simply pull the drain, and rise up slowly and cautiously…you may feel light-headed, even a bit dizzy…..this does go away as soon as you shower off in cooler water. 4. It is important to shower off, as the salt water has pulled the toxins out…you do not want to leave them sitting on your skin to go back in. 5. Its advisable not to use any harsh soaps or shampoos as your pores are open and will absorb those chemicals, kinda defeating your detox :) 6. Once dry you can apply a natural moisturizer. I like to use organic coconut oil or a blend that I make with organic olive oil, grape seed oil and a few drops of rosemary essential oil. (the olive oil does, over time, stain your clothes…but I LOVE how my skin looks and feels…so I don’t mind). These moisturizers are amazing….it may take a couple days for your body to get used to them…but once it does…you will not go back to store bought lotions with dyes, chemicals or perfumes. 7. I recommend not to eat right away after a bath….if anything drink water….to help flush out the toxins. 8. I also recommend to allow for some more rest and rejuvenation after your detox bath, and enjoy your fresh start.

Testing its effects on fibromyalgia – a chronic condition characterized by muscle pain, fatigue, disturbances in sleep, impaired memory, and mood swings – researchers found bathing in the Dead Sea over the course of 10 days improved the severity and frequency of symptoms.

5 Detox Bath That Can Flush Out Tons Of Toxins From Your Body

02:57
Though it might not be possible to free yourself from toxin exposure forever, there are steps that you can take to improve your body’s efficiency at flushing them out. Taking a detox bath will boost your health and well-being by strengthening the immune-system and lowering your risk of disease. Anxious to see what a detox bath can do for your toxin load? These recipes will get you started. 1.Green Tea Soak You already know how calming a cup of green-tea can be in the midafternoon, so why not enjoy the benefits in a hot bath? Simply run a bath with the hottest water you can handle, and add between 5-10 tea bags to the water, letting them infuse into the water for at least 15-minutes before getting in. Then, pull them out and soak for 30-40 minutes before rinsing off in a cold shower. Your porous skin will appreciate the skin-renewing benefits of green-tea antioxidants. 2.Lavender Detox Bath Recipe Lavender-oil is one of the best all-around essential oils to keep on hand. With a scent soothing enough to relieve even extreme stress, lavender oil can lull you to sleep while also improving skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. To enjoy its benefits in a detox-bath, mix together one cup each of Epsom-salt and baking-soda, blending in at least ten drops of lavender essential oil. Mix the blend into a hot bath, soaking everything from your neck down for at least 20-minutes. Remember, it’s okay if you fall asleep in this one. That’s one of the benefits of lavender. 3.Bentonite Clay Detox Bath Bentonite clay is presented as a way of taking a heavy metal detox bath since it is said that it draws these metals out through its magnetism. Heavy-metals can enter the body through any number of ways, and chances are if you haven’t cleansed your body of them yet, you have accumulated them over the years. The most common way is just by drinking water that hasn’t been properly filtered. Other ways are through dental work, eating foods that have been treated with certain chemicals, and much more. 4.Oxygen Detox Bath to Clear a Cold Does your skin need a little extra attention these days? Then pull out your trusty container of hydrogen-peroxide and add two or more cups of this detoxification agent into your bathwater. Next, add at least one tablespoon of dried ginger-powder to the water, and soak for at least half an hour. This bath is ideal when you feel a cold coming on, as hydrogen peroxide will clear-up skin infections and ailments, and the ginger powder can clear up congestion and ease aching-joints. 5.Dead Sea Salt Detox As the lowest place on the planet, the Dead Sea is renowned for carrying some of the most minerally-rich salt in the world. You can reap the benefits by setting up a detox-bath with Dead Sea Salts, bentonite-clay, lavender and frankincense essential oils. Together, these oils will relax your mind and body while easing anxiety. Dead Sea Bath Salts

04:04
http://www.LivingSunFoods.blogspot.com This weekend I was grocery shopping and out of the corner of my eye I caught the bath salts sitting on the shelf. I've been wanting to try these for sometime so I picked up the lavender scented one. The salts are very rich in magnesium chloride, a particular kind of salt. The minerals are absorbed through the skin while soaking in the bathtub. This allows for an increase in blood circulation throughout the body. Interesting facts about the Dead Sea: - Contains ten times as much salt compared to other sea water - 12-18% of Dead Sea Salt is sodium chloride compared to 97% of the salt that is found in the regular ocean water - Because the Dead Sea is so dense with salt, it allows you to float more easily. Have you ever used Dead Sea Mineral Bath Salts or Epsom Salt and if so what was your experience?

Epsom Salt Baths: Magnesium Absorption- Thomas DeLauer

04:33
Epsom Salt Baths: Magnesium Absorption- Thomas DeLauer… http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com for all your business, health, and fitness answers. Epsom salt is composed of magnesium, sulfate and water molecules. The most common suggested use is for the relief of sore muscle pain. ● No research to back this up for epsom salt specifically ● Warm water does help relax stiff muscles and joints Baths are known to relax people, and thus an epsom salt bath can help those who are stressed. Another less discussed benefit that was demonstrated has been demonstrated is the possible absorption of magnesium and sulfate through the skin. *Not many studies out there to confirm this, however: A 2002 study looked at the ability of certain anions (negatively charged ions) and cations (positively charged ions) to be absorbed through skin in vitro and found that both magnesium and sulfate were able to penetrate skin. There was one study conducted that examined this and found these compounds to be absorbed - if you read online you will find this study discusses a lot ● Study was not published ● Study was not peer reviewed ● There was no control group This study was conducted at the University of Birmingham. 19 participants bathed in a bath with epsom salts for one week and had serum and urine sulfate and magnesium levels measured before and after the week of magnesium sulfate baths. Following 7 days of baths 17 participants experienced a raise in serum magnesium levels. The 2 participants that did not experience a serum raise in magnesium levels did experience an increase in urine magnesium levels. The study suggested this could be due to magnesium being absorbed and excreted due to serum magnesium levels already being sufficient. Similar results were found with regard to sulfate, with both serum and urine sulfate levels higher following 7 days of baths. Mechanism was not studied - if it does increase these levels, it could be through skin, inhalation, etc. *We want to be cautious due to limits of this study however, the previously noted in vitro study did find that these compounds could penetrate skin. *More studies are needed before we should count on this for magnesium. Unfortunately there is a lack of studies regarding magnesium sulfate and ability to be absorbed during baths. There is no downside in taking epsom salt baths - at worst, they can offer stress relief, but at best we may be boosting our magnesium and sulfate levels, reducing stress and helping sore muscles. Magnesium sulfate is also used internally and intravenously in medicine: ● Laxative ● Eclampsia ● Irregular heartbeat ● Low magnesium levels Thomas Creates Loads of Health and Fitness Videos, and you can get more of them at: http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com References: 1. Bubbly Rose Bath Salts

07:05
Subscribe & check out my other videos! www.youtube.com/cookingandcrafting Tired of dumb comments regarding bath salts used for anything other than actual baths. If you have a legitimate question, go to another video and ask there. I mention my nephew, who has eczema. This is NOT a cure or a treatment for eczema. I just used his bath wash in this so that he could enjoy a bubble bath that wouldn't be bad on his skin. Who doesn't feel pampered in a bubble bath? The sweet scent of roses is naturally calming. The epsom salts have muscle soothing power. I got this recipe from the Woman's World magazine. 1/2 c. unscented liquid soap 1 T. light oil such as canola, sunflower or sweet almond 1/4 c. hibiscus or raspberry tea for its pink color 6 c. epsom salt (no, you cannot use sea salt or table salt--this is VERY CHEAP at Kmart or Walmart, go get some) Handful of pink rose petals (optional). Stir soap, oil and tea together. Pour over the salts and stir until evenly coated. Spread salts on a cookie sheet covered with a paper towel. Air dry overnight or until salts feel dry. Gently mix in the rose petals. Pour into a pretty container. Sprinkle a handful of the scented salts under warm running water while you draw a bath. Then relax in the luxuriously fragrant suds. *Note: Really, the add ins are endless. Any sort of tea can be added, creating any color. Have fun. Experiment!

Dead Sea Salt Baths for Healthy Skin

A quick video talking about Dead Sea Salt (salt from the Dead Sea) baths. This is good for people with psoriasis and healthy skin in general. I forgot to mention: You may want to rinse off in the shower to get the salt off your skin. I like to apply coconut oil to my skin / psoriasis after.

INSTRUCTIONS !!! Peppermint Bath Salts! inspired by : apumpkinandaprincess.com 3 cups of Epsom Salt 2 cups of Sea Salt 1 cup of Baking Soda 5-10 drops of peppermint oil (or extract) red food coloring step 1: mix together the two salts and the baking soda Step 2: mix in the peppermint oil or extract Step 3: Divide the Bath Salts into two bowls Step 4: Add about 5 drops to half of the mix Step 5: layer the salts in a mason jar! love it! GingerBread Sugar Scrub! Inspired by: livingbettertogether.com 1/2 cup of Brown sugar 1/2 a cup of Pure Cane Sure (or granulated) 1/2 cup of Coconut Oil 1 tsp Vanilla Extract 1/2 tsp Cinnamon 1/2 tsp Cinnamon 1/2 tsp Nutmeg 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger 1/2 tsp All Spice Step 1: Mix the two sugars and add the coconut oil Step 2: Add the Vanilla extract followed by all the spices Step 3: Whip it all together (electrically or otherwise) Step 4: put it in a jar! Bathbomb! Inspired by: WhatsupMoms 1/2 cup of Baking Soda 1/4 cup of Citric Acid 1/4 cup of cornstarch 1/4 cup of Epsom Salt or Sea Salt 3 tsp Vegetable Oil or Castor Oil (if you fancy lol) Food Coloring Essential Oil or I used Vanilla extract and you can add a bit of water but it depends. You’re gonna have to feel it. Step 1: Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowel Step 2: Mix all the wet ingredients separately Step 3: SLOWLY combine them Step 4: place in a mold and let chill for 3 hours or wrap over night Step 5: Wrap it! TIPS: The water can be tricky, in the video I added way too much. It puffed up in the ornament was a mess. Then I made one but added too little and it wouldn’t stay in a ball form it was just two semi- spheres. I patted a little water on the flat sides and then stuck them together. Boom worked out fine. Then the third one I added just enough water but seriously it depends on the weather or something so proceed with caution. If your stuff mix is fizzing it’s probably too much water. (A little fizzing is okay) Disclaimer: This is NOT a sponsored video. I have never/will never accept money in exchange for a positive review. These are my own honest thoughts and opinions. ALWAYS do your own research and take responsibility for the plants that you introduce around your kids, pets, and everyone else. Use common sense when handling plant materials: wear gloves, always wash hands, avoid contact with face, etc. NEVER consume any plant which has not been positively identified with complete certainty to be safe and edible. Before planting anything, research to determine whether specific flowers are considered invasive where you live or if there are laws that apply to their planting in your area. How to make Bath Salt: DIY bath salt

08:33
Homemade bath salts allow you the most flexibility when it comes to choosing the types of salts you would like to use. Whether you purchase or make bath salts, the bath salt recipe or ingredient list, the best bath salts have Epsom salt. Benefits of Epsom salt baths include increased relaxation as well as reduced muscle pain and fatigue as magnesium from the Epsom salt bath is absorbed through the skin into the body. Magnesium found in Epsom salt baths is involved in many different body processes. If your levels are too low then you are at greater risk for heart troubles and diabetes. Epsom salts can be purchased at your local drug store for a reasonable price. Homemade bath salts with Epsom Salt in a bath help your health including tired, achy feet. When you make bath salts, choose salts that do not have extra iodine added, so NO TABLE SALT. Iodine will sting on any open cuts. Dead Sea salt typically doesn’t have added iodine, but check regular sea salt carefully. At the grocery store pickling salt is a safe choice; though I usually use sea salt as Dead Sea salt can be expensive. Because of other trace minerals it’s also not white; instead it’s more of a grayish color. Found in many health food stores, pink Himalayan salt as part of a bath salt recipe adds beautiful color as well as trace elements. Natural colorants for bath salt recipes include turmeric and sea weed powders. You can use food coloring for homemade bath salt too. My personal bath salt recipe includes baking soda which soothes cuts or abrasions. Together with Epsom salt and sea salt it makes a nice combination. For muscle pain relief I add essential oils, such as peppermint, eucalyptus, bergamot and lavender, which also causes the body to relax and increase blood circulation though you are free to add any fragrance you wish including perfumes that need to be used up. To make sure the scent stays, do what my mom does and store them in the cool, dark, dry place or I, as a chemist, cheat and use a fixative called dendritic salt. It’s a highly purified version of table salt with a greater surface area. This can be purchased from various soap supply stores. You can also add powdered milk to your homemade bath salts to make a milk bath. Since many of my friends are vegan, I shy away from things like that, but you are welcome to try it out. Let me know in the comments how your creations turned out. Usually with people use floral scents with milk baths, but feel free to try different combinations. 9 Reasons Why You Should Add Epsom Salt To Your Bath

06:06
Epsom salt provides a wealth of health and beauty benefits. Its secret ingredient is the chemical compound magnesium sulfate. The body uses magnesium to regulate hundreds of enzymes and also plays a vital role in many bodily functions. A magnesium deficiency can result in high blood pressure, osteoporosis and migraines. Sulfate plays a role in the formation of brain tissue and improves the body’s absorption of essential nutrients. In today’s video we’ll highlight the top health benefits of Epsom salt. 1. Eases Aches & Pains The next time your body has aches and pains, reach for Epsom salt. Its magnesium can alleviate swelling and inflammation. It also has been shown to help lower high blood pressure, and prevent osteoporosis and migraines. Magnesium reduces stiffness, inflammation and most pain associated with arthritis, including gout. This miracle worker assists in bone mineralization, promotes nerve functionality and soothes nerve pain. 2. Aids Detoxification The magnesium in Epsom salt assists in eliminating harmful toxins from the body and detoxifies cells to flush out environmental contaminants. 3. Stress reliever Epsom salt can relieve stress, which can drain the body of magnesium and increases adrenaline levels. It also can trigger the release and uptake of serotonin, a mood-enhancing chemical in the brain. The proper levels of serotonin regulate anxiety, and creates feelings of well-being and relaxation. Three times a week, add 1 cup of Epsom salt to a warm bath and soak for 20 minutes. 4. Relieves Muscle Cramps Epsom salt is a great remedy for treating muscle cramps or relieving sore muscles after workouts. The magnesium reduces inflammation which eases pain. This in turn promotes muscle relaxation and healing. Make a thick paste of Epsom salt and hot water. Apply it on the affected area for 15 to 20 minutes for soothing comfort. 5. Improves Digestion Epsom salt assists in the elimination of harmful toxins and waste products from the body and the digestive system. It also works as a laxative in treating constipation. Dissolve 1 or 2 teaspoons of Epsom salt in 1 cup of warm water. Drink on an empty stomach once a day. 6. Adds Volume to Hair Epsom salt can add body to your hair, remove excess oil from your scalp and keep both healthy. Over time, chemicals in shampoos and conditioners can accumulate on the scalp and can result in oily hair, thinning hair and hair loss. The minerals in Epsom salt can repair and strengthen damaged hair. To make a voluminous hair mask, mix equal parts of a warm deep conditioner and Epsom salt. Apply to slightly damp hair. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with cold water. Note: Only use this treatment once a week. If you have oily hair, add a little bit of Epsom salt to your shampoo and wash your hair as usual. Do this no more than twice a week. 7. Exfoliates Skin To maintain a healthy, glowing complexion, it’s essential to exfoliate once or twice a week to eliminate dead skin cells. Exfoliation also removes excess oil from skin pores so your skin doesn’t become fertile ground for itchiness, pimples, blackheads and other common problems. Gently rub a handful of Epsom salt over damp skin to remove dead skin cells. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. 8. Improves Heart Health Epsom salt is also heart friendly. The magnesium improves blood circulation, which decreases the chances of heart disease and strokes. Magnesium helps maintain a normal heart rhythm and healthy arteries. Healthy arteries will mean there is less risk of developing blood clots, plaque buildup and damage to arterial walls. Enjoy an Epsom salt bath 3 times a week to improve your cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of heart attack. 9. Alleviates Foot Problems Rough and callused feet also need tender care. Epsom salt can soften dry, rough heels. Its natural properties work wonders in diminishing foot odor, and also improve athlete’s foot and other foot problems. Add ½ cup of Epsom salt to a foot tub filled with warm water and soak for 10 minutes daily. Symptoms should improve soon. When taken internally, Epsom salt can cause adverse side effects, including gastrointestinal irritation, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. Consult your doctor before taking Epsom salt. Do not take it longer than 1 week.
