It premiered September 10, 1966 on CBS, and ran for two seasons. The program contained two segments, which each served as a middle ground between Hanna-Barbera's traditional cartoon early output and its superhero-based late-1960s cartoons. Each episode would feature two segments with The Impossibles, with Frankenstein JR sandwiched in between. Frankenstein Jr.: Taking place in Civic City, boy scientist Buzz Conroy (voiced by Dick Beals) and his father Professor Conroy (voiced by John Stephenson) fight super villains with the aid of a powerful heroic robot named "Frankenstein Jr." (voiced by Ted Cassidy). "Frankie", as Buzz usually referred to him, was more than a little reminiscent of the title character in Gigantor. Buzz built "Frankie" and activated him through an energy ring. The Impossibles: The title characters are a trio of superheroes (Multi Man, Fluid Man, and Coil Man) who pose undercover as a Beatlesesque rock music band. The characters' names are descriptive of their powers: Multi-Man (voiced by Don Messick) can create identical copies of himself; Coil-Man (voiced by Hal Smith) can form into a super-springy coil; and Fluid-Man (voiced by Paul Frees) can transform his body into any fluid. The heroes receive assignments from "Big D" (also voiced by Frees), who contacts them via a receiver in the base of Coil-Man's left-handed guitar. During the development of the show, this group was called "The Incredibles," but was changed to "The Impossibles" by the time of production. The team's pre-production name was later given to the superhero family from the Disney/Pixar movie of the same name. The show was the target of complaints about violence in children's television, and was canceled in 1968. The Frankenstein Jr. segments were later recycled in the 1976 series Space Ghost and Frankenstein Jr., which aired on NBC from November 27, 1976 until September 3, 1977, replacing the canceled Big John, Little John. He was just an average cave teen until a stranger presented him with a magical club that turns him into super-powered Mighty Mightor when danger strikes his village. A great white whale and a teenage cave dweller are the headliners of this 2-Disc, 18-Episode Collection.

Sixteen 30-minute installments of Speed Buggy were produced in 1973. The show was so successful that it aired on all three major networks. It aired first run on CBS until 1975. Reruns aired on ABC in January 1976 replacing Uncle Croc's Block, then on NBC, replacing the canceled McDuff, The Talking Dog, from November 27, 1976 until September 3, 1977 (thus completing the cycle of being on all three networks). It was then picked up by the USA Network for their Cartoon Express shows from 1982 to about 1990. Unlike most cartoon series' produced by Hanna-Barbera in the 1970s, Speed Buggy did not contain a laugh track. Although closely patterned after the meddling kids characters of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, at least five Speed Buggy episodes were actually reworkings of Josie and the Pussycats storylines, including "Out of Sight", "Island of the Giant Plants" and "Hidden Valley". The Mighty Heroes - theme

01:00
The Mighty Heroes, Strong Man ... Rope Man ... Cuckoo Man ... Tornado Man ... Diaper Man ... Together, they battled crime and evil as The Mighty Heroes in a fondly remembered 1960s Saturday morning animated superhero spoof. The Mighty Heroes, a Terrytoons production, debuted on CBS, on Oct. 29, 1966. The series was created by Ralph Bakshi, whose later credits include the first animated version of Spider-Man, such features as Wizards, American Pop and Fritz the Cat, and a stint as creative director of Paramount's Famous Studios. The characters' voices were provided by Herschel Bernardi (Charlie Tuna) and Lionel Wilson (Tom Terrific). The show lasted only one season, with 20 episodes. Afterward, its segments were re-run as part of the syndicated Mighty Mouse half-hour. Between 1969 and '71, about half of the episodes were released as theatrical cartoons. During the 1970s and '80s, they were syndicated separately, and appeared alongside Bugs Bunny and Popeye, in local kid programs all over America.

The Impossibles

Since the Powers That Be made me remove my first Impossibles tribute, I've decided to do another one. Hopefully, this one will be allowed to stay up (if the PTB remove it, I'll scream). This Impossibles AMV is set to the tune of "Secret Agent Man" by Johnny Rivers. And, actually, I think I like this one better than my "Hawaii 5-0" video.

Lippy the Lion & Hardy Har Har are a pair of anthropomorphic Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters, a lion in a tattered top hat and vest and a hyena in a porkpie hat and bow tie, respectively. Lippy's voice, patterned after comic Joe E. Brown, is identical to that of Peter Potamus (both provided by Daws Butler). Hardy Har Har's name is ironic, as it suggests the sound of laughter associated with a hyena (see onomatopoeia) and Hardy is an eternal pessimist. "Gip" Gipson, Bobby Joe Mason, and Pablo Robertson, alongside their fictional bus driver and manager Granny, and Dribbles, their dog mascot. The series worked to a formula where the team travel somewhere and typically got involved in a local conflict that leads to one of the characters proposing a basketball game to settle the issue. To ensure the Globetrotters' defeat, the villains rig the contest to ensure that their opponents lose. However before the second half of the contest, the team always finds a way to even the odds, become all but invincible, and win the game. Copyright Notice: Warner Bros. holds copyright on this. SUPER PRESIDENT: "The Great Vegetable Disinteagrator" Cartoon 1967

06:46
The American President James Norcross (voiced by Paul Frees) is given superpowers as the result of a cosmic storm. The President now has increased strength and the Metamorpho-like ability to change his molecular composition at will to any form required (like granite, steel, ozone, water and even electricity). A hidden panel in the Oval Office allows him access to his secret base, a hidden cave beneath the "Presidential Mansion" (a somewhat modified White House). Super President travels either by using a futuristic automobile/aircraft/submarine called the Omnicar, or by using jets built into his belt. Despite the fact that the character's name is "Super President," for some reason only Norcross' chubby, pipe-smoking advisor Jerry Sayles knows that the leader of the Free World is also a red and white-costumed superhero in his off-hours.
