I'm a complete beginner at make-up, and I hear lots of people mentioning moisturizer before foundation, do you need to moisturize before you apply foundation?
(Sorry, I know it's a late comment and the video was made in 2017)
Hi Pinkpot3, thanks for your comment, and no worries it's not too late! You might find some of my newer videos very helpful, plus the quality got a lot better. :) Yes, you should absolutely moisturize and prep the skin before foundation, it will make a world of difference. Please let me know if you need any more help! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuD8rl-xzUI
I now always mix this foundation with the lancome renergie foundation, this remarcable foundation (in this video) is so nice but a very heavy foundation, which I found out while filming lol. You might like my newest video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7VcyLXNPNA
Evelyn Martinez hi Evelyn, it could be the combination of your moisturizer, primer and foundation not mixing well. Some are water based/oil based or silicone based. So depending on these three products this could be why.
Hi Dakota, thank you for your comment. Mac is typically known to be a heavier makeup line, so if you notice any breaking out or skin congestion, you may want to consider a lighter makeup line. As far as a great liquid foundation, if you are looking for light coverage with sun protection, I recommend the Tinted Moisturizer by Laura Mercier, and if you want heavier coverage with sun protection, I really like the Lancome, Laura Mercier, Marc Jacobs, Too Faced 'Born this way'. I recommend you go try on all of these and see which one fits your skin type and sits the best with your skin. I hope this is helpful. <3 Let me know!
I'm a sponge user but recently bought a brush to experiment. My problem is that my face doesn't match the color of my neck - face is whiter. Do I need a darker foundation? Or is it best to use lighter the foundation on my neck?
Hi Damsel, I'm much like you, because I too use protection against UV Sun damage. Good for you. So, I would recommend that if you always have a darker body/neck, you could get away with a little bit of a darker shade for your foundation, but not too dark, it's always nice to be able to contour with bronzer or a contour palette, than to have a mud-looking face. I hope this is helpful. :) In the winter months try mixing a lighter shade into your darker shade to achieve the right color for winter months.
Except from these, it is possible that you are not applying gently your foundation on your skin. Try using a damp makeup sponge for applying foundation by dabbing it on your face. I used to have the same problem as you, and this helped me a lot!
Hi Chew, it's hard to know, without testing each of the products, however, I can suggest it might have to do with the products not mixing well together. Some products are oil based, some are water based and some have silicone. If you can research each product and make sure the ingredients aren't having a negative reaction, this could be your first step. Secondly, it could be that your foundation is not sheer enough, it could be that you are using too much product so remember to layer, as you can less is more and build foundation where you need more coverage. Third be sure your products aren't older than 6-7 months old, they will get thicker and less move-able after that, and start to grow bacteria. Hope that was helpful!
V Vera hi , thank you for your question. I prefer to use it dry. If you do wet your own brush be sure that your makeup works well with water, in case you are using an oil based foundation, it will not mix /blend well.
Manpreet Chawla absolutely! The MintPear Collagen Serum is going to change your life, it will keep your foundation looking amazing all day and help heal and prevent acne. Here’s the link: https://www.mintpear.com/products/collagen-serum-regenerate-restore

That is a great topic. I've had a lot of experimentation with this, and I've found the best solution is to make sure that you are using a primer before your foundation. I'll have to make a video about this for you soon.
Hi there, it really depends on two things, if you want to follow with applying eyeshadow, and what type of foundation you are using. I will apply foundation over my eyelids to even my over-all "canvas" but if I haven't primed my eyelids, it will crease and my eye shadow will not stay in place. Sometimes it's better to use your concealer for the eyelid area. I have a video here that shows you how: https://youtu.be/_Ykr9rl3PLY
Wish i could find a good foundation brush i only use the real techniques beauty blender so i can not have awful streaks on my face i prefer to bounce or stipple especially with my combo skin brushes can look awful blending on dry patches
Hi Jade, here is the link to the one I'm using in the video above: https://bit.ly/2xsJAIe You can use code MP20 for 20% off your entire purchase. I honestly cannot apply my foundation with out it now! <3

Alexis Jayne hi there, you should try to apply your foundation after your moisturizer has soaked in and you’ll want the climate to be not too hot. Sweating will not allow your makeup to spread smoothly. Hope that was helpful. 💕🙏
Melissa Olson what is your foundation? How old is it? It could be that it’s not mixing well with your skin type (oily or dry) or it’s not mixing well with your moisturizer. Some foundations are oil based and some are water based.

Hi there Raja! Thank you for your comment. You want to use a few things before foundation to get the best application, 1. exfoliate (even with a warm wash clothe) 2. Toner 3. Moisturizer 4.Primer (this is going to set the canvas for the foundation by creating a smooth layer filling in large pores, wrinkles, and helping to keep your foundation from moving all day). You can wear foundation without primer, but once you use it, you will see why it's soooo nice to use it.
Hi there, thank you for your comment. I have a newer updated video that shows the complete step by step for my whole face including the under eye area and the current products I am loving too. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ykr9rl3PLY Thank you for your support!
Have you tried to start out with less foundation and build where you need coverage? Sometimes it comes down to using less makeup at first, also, are you prepping your skin properly? You might like my new video on my channel "how to prep and prime the skin for makeup". Let me know if that helps. :)
It also helps to keep your foundation from moving through out the day, if you have a problem with it creasing or looking uneven by the end of the day. I'm happy to hear you have beautiful skin Brianna, <3 Thanks for watching!
You can definitely apply foundation with a damp sponge if you prefer, sometimes it comes down to the foundation and the quality of the sponge. If your makeup is oil based it will not blend well with a damp sponge. Water and oil do not mix. Hope this is helpful!
I always use a powder contour fyi, but as far as the brushes? I use the MintPear set that has all different sizes to blend out the contour, whether it's on my nose or my cheeks. Here I'll link my video with them all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ykr9rl3PLY&t=203s
Rita Almusa of MintPear Beauty you've become one of my favs for easy to understand makeup vids. And I have a question: while using liquid and power contour (deeper shade of cc cream or bronzer or what ever works for you)whatyour go to method of application? (Type of brush I mean. What do you use for liquid and what do you use for powder? ) I especially want to know about what works best for your/my nose.
ohhh thank you! I love hearing this. Please let me know what you love the most, and if you want me to make a video about anything else in particular either with skin or makeup! I really appreciate your support D D!
Hi Winnya, thank you so much for your support and for your comment. I hope you find my newer versions of how to apply makeup and foundation on my channel as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ykr9rl3PLY
Absolutely, as long as the ingredients are really good and won't make you break out. Try the MintPear Collagen Serum, this will actually help to clear and prevent acne. The link is in the video's description.
Myosha, moisturizer is not the same as primer, I recommend to use both. Primer will help to prevent your skin becoming oily thru out the day but I recommend using MintPear's Collagen Serum because it won't clog your pores or make you breakout like other synthetic primers.

10. “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost (1874-1963)
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
Meaning of the Poem.
This poem deals with that big noble question of “How to make a difference in the world?” On first reading, it tells us that the choice one makes really does matter, ending: “I took the one less traveled by, / And that has made all the difference.”
